MOORE, James Edward "Doc" or "Jimmy" age 62, of Dayton, born August 21, 1951 in Cleveland, Ohio, passed away Monday, January 13, 2014 at the V. A. Medical Center. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He worked for Defense Electronic Supply Center as a fireman where he later became the first African American Fire Chief. Preceded in death by his second wife of 23 years, Vita M. Goodin-Moore; mother, Maggie Stevens; father, Willie Stollings; sister, Etta Frazier; stepsister, Sherrie Hall. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Charlene; devoted sons, James "Yahantey " ( 1st wife Cindy Lumpkin). and Mychal T., I; step-son, Chad Levell; grandchildren, Alexis, Ahmi, Mychal II, Mychiah, Raimya, Amil, Yannis; step-father, Dave Stevens; step-mother, Juanita Stollings; mother-in-law, Leta Levell; sisters, Mary Snow, Barbara Stevens, Marilyn (Joseph) Walker, Vicky Stollings, and Lily (Johnnie) Welborne; brother, Richard Stollings; extended family of Anita (Marty) Lewis, Edward (Dowana) and Andre (JoAnn) Stallworth; sisters-in-law, Linda (Ray) Barfield, Katherine and Tami Levell; many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held 11 am Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at the House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc., 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave. Interment Dayton National Cemetery.
