
Eugene Boyce

Eugene Boyce was born January 5, 1922: the only child of Mack and Sissie Lee (Garrett) Boyce, native of Monroe GA. He was a soldier in the US Army and served his country during WWII. Upon completing his mission and receiving a medal of honorable discharge, he relocated to Dayton, Ohio following in the footsteps of his uncles Andrew and Marsh Garrett. Devoting his life to Christ he was a lifelong member of Mt. Enon Missionary Baptist Church where he served on the Usher Board for over 55 years until his health would not allow him to serve. He was employed at Frigidaire, a division of General Motors Corp from which he retired after 32 years of service. On December 20, 1960 he took Elizabeth Bobbie Combs hand in marriage. To their union they celebrated the birth of their daughter, Jannetta Lynn. Being a proud, responsible and honest man he raised: Bobbie's (3) children as his own: Elizabeth Ann, Leonard Benjamin and Cynthia Orleta Judy Porter.
Preceded in death by his parents, grandson: James Boyce Jr. and beloved wife of 42 years, Elizabeth Bobbie (Combs) Boyce). He leaves to cherish his memory: daughters, Elizabeth Ann Perkins (Charles) Judy Myles (Gazell) and Jannetta Warren (Michael) sons: Benjamin Porter (Kathy) and James Boyce (Velma); Granddaughters, Andrea Burk (Leroy) Kirkland AFB, New Mexico, Anne Marie Perkins (Lance Herndon). Kimberly Jackson and Dorothy Boyce; grandsons, Christopher Boyce, Leachim and Kevon Warren: great grandson, Demetrius Perkins; devoted friend and brother in law, Lionell Combs, Sr.; all of Dayton, Ohio: sister-in-law, Florence Combs of Lexington, KY; aunt, Ovella Enus of Social Circle, GA and a host of friends.
